About
Siiri Oksanen (b. 2000, Finland)
is a visual artist/object designer based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Through a tactile practice-oriented approach, Siiri’s work explores craft and materiality, its history and context, intertwining this with the theme of femininity as well as the role of gender in craft. Siiri’s work follows a tactile, practice-orientated approach, in which she is most curious about bringing new aspects of materiality visible. Through intervening in processes and treating materials outside of their binary position, Siiri explores new narratives through functional and non-functional objects and sculpture within the domestic environment.
