About

Siiri Oksanen (b. 2000, Finland) is a Finnish artist and designer working between Rotterdam, The Netherlands and Helsinki, Finland.

Through a tactile practice-oriented approach, Siiri’s work explores craft and materiality, its history and context, intertwined  with the theme of femininity as well as the role of gender in craft. Siiri is most curious about bringing new aspects of materiality visible, and making known material appear unknown, searching for a questioning of our daily surroundings. By intervening in production processes and treating materials outside of their binary position, Siiri’s work visualises new narratives of materiality in the domestic environment through objects and sculpture
